Low Maintenance Costs


Samsung Heavy Industries supplies wind power generators with: an automatic lubrication system with easy maintenance and durable bearing and an electronic motor-type pitch/yaw-drive that does not requirer regular leakage monitoring on joints and oil pressure pipes, which is required by oil pressure type drives.In addition, the generators apply inverter-controlling technology to prevent damage to gear saw teeth caused by transient current.

Drive Train Pwerformance Proven through Coprehensive Tests
The shaft system is designed to have the double sup-porter type, in order to remove the loads of the axis sup-plied to the gearbox by the rotor, and to enable the easy replacement of the gearbox.
The torque limiter prevents breakdown by eliminating shocks to the gearbox caused by sudden changes in torque, and the gearbox mounting effectively reduces vibrations during torque delivery by using oil pressure.

Yaw-drive The driving gear that controls the rotor to the direction of the wind, when the wind direction changes
Pitch Drive The driving gear that actively controls the power output by controlling the tilt angle of blades

Torque The turning force that rotates objects around the main axis of rotation
